Hadith 1759

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If the husband is present, a woman should not observe even a single voluntary fast without his permission." He said: "She should fulfill the fast of vow."

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 1758)

From these ahadith, it is established that it is necessary for a woman to seek her husband's permission to observe a voluntary fast (nafl roza). From this, the right of the husband is also understood. It is also evident that for obligatory fasts (fard roza), there is no need to seek the husband's permission. Similarly, for obligatory prayers (fard salah) and obligatory charity (zakat), there is no need to seek the husband's permission.
