Hadith 1733

Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We ate suhoor with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then he stood up for prayer. The narrator said: I asked Zaid, how much time was there between suhoor and the adhan? He replied: The time it takes to recite fifty verses.

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 1732)

From this hadith, it is understood that the leader of mankind, the best of creation, Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam himself used to partake in suhoor (pre-dawn meal), and he would eat in the last part of the night before the break of dawn. From this, it is established that delaying the suhoor meal is proven, which, according to the Sunnah of the Messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, is recommended and a practiced Sunnah.
