Hadith 1719

Sayyiduna Salman bin Amir Dabi, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated in a marfu’ manner: Giving charity to a poor person is (simply) charity, and giving charity to a relative is two things: charity and maintaining the ties (of kinship).

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 1718)

From these ahadith, it is established that giving charity (sadaqah) to one's dear ones and relatives is a cause for double reward, and the one who does so is deserving of double recompense.
Therefore, one should take care of one's dear ones and relatives and assist them in every possible way.
