Sayyida Hawwa (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Muslim women! None of you should consider anything insignificant to give as a gift to her neighbor, even if it is only a burnt hoof of a goat (or even if it is just a burnt foot)."
(Commentary on Hadith 1709) «كراع» refers to the part below the ankle of cattle or humans. In the Sahihayn, the word «ولو فرسن شاة» is used, meaning the hoof of a goat. There is very little meat on the foot, and it is something of very little value, but if someone possesses only this, he should not consider giving it in charity as insignificant; he should not send the beggar back empty-handed. And if the beggar or the female beggar is a neighbor, then her right is even greater, and gifts and presents increase love.
