It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him), the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever asks anything from someone despite being wealthy, it will be a mark of disgrace on his face."

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadiths 1681 to 1683) In these hadiths, there is a prohibition against begging insistently and persistently, and whoever does so—even if the giver is the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam himself—there will be no blessing in it. In the second hadith, there is a severe warning for the one who begs without need and while possessing wealth.
In the Noble Qur’an, it is stated that those who do not cling and persist in asking are the ones truly deserving of charity: «﴿تَعْرِفُهُمْبِسِيمَاهُمْلَايَسْأَلُونَالنَّاسَإِلْحَافًا ...﴾ [البقره : 273]» (Translation: You will recognize them by their faces; they do not persistently beg from people). Thus, the characteristic of the people of faith is that, despite poverty and destitution, they refrain from begging and avoid persistently asking from others.
