Hadith 1607

Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with both of them) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite «سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى» and «هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ» in the prayers of the two Eids and Jumu’ah, and whenever Eid and Jumu’ah coincided, he would recite these Surahs in both prayers as well.

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadiths 1604 to 1607)
From these hadiths, it is established to recite Surah al-A‘la and Surah al-Ghashiyah and Surah al-Jumu‘ah in the Friday (Jumu‘ah) prayer.
In other authentic narrations, reciting Surah al-Munafiqun along with Surah al-Jumu‘ah is established from Sayyiduna Ali and Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhuma).
Reciting these surahs in the Friday and Eid prayers is Sunnah; other surahs and verses may also be recited.
