Hadith 1556

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was in a hurry during a journey, he would combine Maghrib and Isha prayers and perform them together.

Brief Explanation
(Explanation of Hadiths 1553 to 1556)
Combining prayers (jam‘ bayn al-salatayn) refers to performing two prayers together at one time, and there are two forms of this: jam‘ taqdim (combining by advancing) and jam‘ ta’khir (combining by delaying), both of which are permissible.
According to most of the imams, it is permissible to combine two prayers during travel, and even in residence due to fear or rain, as is established from authentic ahadith and from the ahadith of this chapter.
May Allah grant us the ability to act upon the Sunnah.
