حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، قَالَ: "كَانَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ إِذَا سُئِلَ عَنْ شَيْءٍ لَمْ يُجِبْ فِيهِ إِلَّا جَوَابَ الَّذِي سُئِلَ عَنْهُ".
A’mash (Sulaiman bin Mehran) said: When Imam Ibrahim al-Nakha’i (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked about issues, he would only answer those issues which had previously been asked of him.
