باب مَنْ هَابَ الْفُتْيَا وَكَرِهَ التَّنَطُّعَ وَالتَّبَدُّعَ:Chapter: Those Who Feared Giving Fatwa and Disliked Excessiveness and Innovation
Hadith 152
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَنْ فِرَاسٍ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ أَمْشِي مَعَ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، فَقَالَ فَتًى: مَا تَقُولُ يَا عَمَّاهُ فِي كَذَا وَكَذَا ؟، قَالَ: يَا ابْنَ أَخِي، أَكَانَ هَذَا ؟، قَالَ: لَا، قَالَ: "فَأَعْفِنَا حَتَّى يَكُونَ".
Masruq said: I was walking with Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) when a young man said: Uncle! What do you say about this matter? He said: Nephew! Has such (a matter) occurred? He replied: No. So he answered: If it has not happened, then spare us, until such a matter actually takes place.
