Sayyiduna Umar bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a person sleeps and misses his regular recitation or a part of it, and then recites it between Fajr and Dhuhr, it will be recorded for him as if he had recited it during the night."

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 1515)
In the narration of Abu Dawud, it is stated: The reward for reciting it is written as if it was recited during the night, and his sleep (rest) is counted as charity for him.
This is from the mercy and kindness of Allah Ta’ala that if a servant goes to sleep with the intention of waking up at night to perform prayer, then even if he sleeps through the night, he is granted the reward of worshipping during the night, and he also receives the reward for sleeping (Subhan Allah al-Azeem). Furthermore, if a person habitually performs the tahajjud prayer (night prayer) but occasionally is unable to wake up and remains asleep, then he should perform the tahajjud prayer before the zuhr (noon) prayer. However, instead of eleven rak‘ahs, he should perform twelve rak‘ahs, because witr is a night prayer. And as has been established from the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, which has just been mentioned, that when he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam missed the tahajjud prayer, he would perform twelve rak‘ahs during the day before zuhr.
