Hadith 1458

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "One prayer in this mosque of mine is better than a thousand prayers in all other mosques except Masjid al-Haram."

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadiths 1455 to 1458)

From these hadiths, the virtue of the Prophet’s Mosque (Masjid al-Nabawi) is established, that offering prayer in it carries a reward one thousand times greater than in other mosques, except for Masjid al-Haram. Furthermore, it is also understood that Masjid al-Haram is superior to all the mosques on the face of the earth, because the reward for one prayer in it is equal to one hundred thousand prayers, «كما ورد فى بعض الروايات».
