باب مَنْ هَابَ الْفُتْيَا وَكَرِهَ التَّنَطُّعَ وَالتَّبَدُّعَ:Chapter: Those Who Feared Giving Fatwa and Disliked Excessiveness and Innovation
Hadith 141
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا زَمْعَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَاضِرٍ الْأَزْدِيِّ، قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، فَقُلْتُ: أَوْصِنِي، فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ، "عَلَيْكَ بِتَقْوَى اللَّهِ، وَالِاسْتِقَامَةِ، اتَّبِعْ وَلَا تَبْتَدِعْ".
‘Uthman bin Hadhir Azdi said: I went to Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) and said: Advise me. He said: Listen! Adopt the fear of Allah and remain steadfast upon it. Follow (the Sunnah) and avoid innovations.
