Hadith 1263

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If anyone forgets a prayer or sleeps through it, then as soon as he remembers, he should perform that prayer immediately. Allah Almighty says: And establish prayer for My remembrance."

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 1262)

From this hadith, it is understood that if a person occasionally oversleeps, then as soon as he wakes up, he should immediately perform the prayer. Similarly, if he forgets, then as soon as he remembers, he should perform that prayer.

It should be noted that this ruling is only for obligatory (fard) prayers.

Apart from the Sunnah prayers of Fajr and Witr, it is not necessary to make up (qada) any other voluntary (nafl) prayers.

And Allah knows best.
