باب كَرَاهِيَةِ الْفُتْيَا:Chapter: Dislike of Giving Religious Verdicts
Hadith 125
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو هِشَامٍ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ، قَالَ: سُئِلَ عَمَّارُ بْنُ يَاسِرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْ مَسْأَلَةٍ، فَقَالَ: "هَلْ كَانَ هَذَا بَعْدُ ؟، قَالُوا: لَا، قَالَ: دَعُونَا حَتَّى تَكُونَ، فَإِذَا كَانَ، تَجَشَّمْنَاهَا لَكُمْ".
Aamir said that a question was asked to Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) about a certain issue, so he asked, "Has this actually occurred?" The people replied, "No." So Ammar said, "Leave us until it actually happens, and if that incident does occur, then we will bear the hardship of investigating the matter for you."
