Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delayed the ‘Isha prayer one night until Umar bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) called out to him that the women and children have fallen asleep. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) then came out and said: “None among the people of the earth performs this prayer except you.” And at that time, there were no Muslims anywhere except in Madinah, or that the reward for waiting for such a noble prayer has been destined by Allah only for the Ummah of Muhammad.
