أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ، حَدَّثَتْنِي حَبِيبَةُ بِنْتُ حَمَّادٍ، حَدَّثَتْنِي عَمْرَةُ بِنْتُ حَيَّانَ السَّهْمِيَّةُ، قَالَتْ: قَالَتْ لِي عَائِشَةُ أُمُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا: "أَمَا تَسْتَطِيعُ إِحْدَاكُنَّ إِذَا تطَهُرَتْ مِنْ حَيْضِهَا أَنْ تَتَدَخِّنَ شَيْئًا مِنْ قُسْطٍ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدْ فَشَيْئًا مِنْ آسٍ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدْ فَشَيْئًا مِنْ نَوًى، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدْ فَشَيْئًا مِنْ مِلْحٍ".
Umrah bint Hayyan Sahmiyyah said: Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said to me: Is there anyone among you who, after becoming pure from menstruation, cannot afford to use the incense of al-Qist? If she cannot afford it, then [she should use] al-As; if she cannot afford that either, then she should use some date pits or even just salt for incense.
