Hadith 119

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنْ الْأَمْرِ يَحْدُثُ لَيْسَ فِي كِتَابٍ وَلَا سُنَّةٍ، فَقَالَ: "يَنْظُرُ فِيهِ الْعَابِدُونَ مِنْ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ".
Yahya bin Hamzah said that Sayyiduna Abu Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to me that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about a matter which was neither in the Qur'an nor in the Hadith. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The devout believers will contemplate about it."
