أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ حَكِيمٍ الْأَثْرَمِ، عَنْ أَبِي تَمِيمَةَ الْهُجَيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "مَنْ أَتَى حَائِضًا، أَوْ امْرَأَةً فِي دُبُرِهَا، أَوْ كَاهِنًا فَصَدَّقَهُ بِمَا يَقُولُ، فَقَدْ كَفَرَ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever has intercourse with a menstruating woman, or approaches a woman from her behind, or goes to a soothsayer and believes what he says, then he has denied what was revealed to Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him." (That is, he has denied the Noble Qur'an.)
Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 1170)
From this hadith, it is understood that whoever has intercourse during menstruation (hayd), or whoever has intercourse through the anus (dubr), or the person who goes to a soothsayer (kahin) and listens to his words and considers them true—these three types of people go outside the fold of Islam; this is the meaning of this hadith.
Imam Tirmidhi rahimahullah has said: This has been stated as a warning and to make people avoid such actions.
And Allah knows best.
