أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا: أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ "لَا تَرَى بَأْسًا أَنْ تَمَسَّ الْحَائِضُ الْخُمْرَةَ".
It is narrated from Qasim that Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) did not consider there to be any harm in a menstruating woman touching the prayer mat.

From all these ahadith and narrations, it is understood that with a woman who is experiencing menstruation (hayd), eating, drinking, sitting, standing, intimacy, and as has been stated, everything above the waist-wrapper (ma fawq al-izar) is permissible.
