Hadith 1042

It is narrated from Imam Zuhri, may Allah have mercy on him, regarding a woman who has become pure and hears a verse of prostration, that until she performs ghusl, she will not perform the prostration.

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Ahadith 1036 to 1042)
From all these traditions and statements of the Salaf, it is understood that in the state of menstruation (hayd), even after the cessation of menstruation but before performing the ritual bath (ghusl), if a menstruating woman hears a verse of prostration (ayat al-sajdah), she should not perform the prostration (sajdah). This is because prostration is a part of prayer (salah), and just as she cannot perform prayer, how then can she perform prostration?
