باب الْحَائِضِ تَذْكُرُ اللَّهَ وَلاَ تَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ:Chapter: Menstruating Woman Remembers Allah but Does Not Recite Qur'an
Hadith 1028
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: كَانَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يَكْرَهُ أَوْ "يَنْهَى أَنْ يَقْرَأَ الْجُنُبُ"، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: "وَجَدْتُ فِي الْكِتَابِ وَالْحَائِضُ".
It is narrated from Imam Ibrahim Nakha'i (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) considered it disliked or forbade a person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) from reciting the Qur'an. Shu’bah said: I also saw in the book that he said the same regarding a menstruating woman.
