Imam Ibrahim Nakha'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: If a menstruating woman and a man or woman in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah) hear a verse of prostration, then the one in janabah should perform ghusl and then perform the prostration (of recitation), but the menstruating woman will not do so, because she cannot perform prayer.
