Hadith 4102
Sahm bin Mu'tamir Hijimi narrates that he came to Madinah Munawwarah and met the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in one of the streets of Madinah. He found the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in such a state that he was wearing a waistcloth made of cotton, and its edge was spread out. Hijimi said: O Messenger of Allah! The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: «عليك السلام» This is the greeting of men. He said: O Messenger of Allah! Advise me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not consider any good deed to be insignificant, even if (that good deed is that you) give someone a rope as a gift, pour water from your bucket into the vessel of one who asks for water, meet your Muslim brother with a cheerful face, comfort the heart of a person who is in fear and distress, or give someone a strap as a gift."
