Hadith 4077
Muhammad bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from his father that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Three things are from good fortune and three are from misfortune. The fortunate (three things are:) (1) A wife whom, when you look at her, she pleases you, and when you are absent, you feel secure regarding her own self and your wealth; (2) A gentle (and swift) mount that joins you with your companions; and (3) A house that is spacious and contains all (necessary) conveniences. And the three things of misfortune are: (1) A wife whom, when you look at her, she displeases you, (and also) she speaks harshly to you, and when you are absent, you are not secure regarding her own self and your wealth (due to her betrayal); (2) A mount that is slow (and awkward in its gait), (if you urge it to go faster) you will tire yourself, and if you do not urge it, you will be left behind from your companions (the caravan); and (3) A house that is cramped and does not contain all (necessary) conveniences.”
