Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Asim bin Humaid Sakuni, he states that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) (towards Yemen), he set out with him while giving him advice. Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) was riding, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was walking alongside his mount. When he finished, he said: "Mu'adh! Perhaps after this year you will not meet me, but it is possible that you may pass by my mosque or my grave." Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) became anxious due to the separation from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and began to weep. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Mu'adh! Do not weep, indeed weeping is from Shaytan."
