Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Narrated from Sayyidah Umm Hani bint Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: On the day of the conquest of Makkah, I gave protection to two men from my in-laws and brought them into the house and closed the door. My mother's son, Ali bin Abi Talib, came and drew his sword over both of them. I went to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), but he was not present; however, Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) was present, but she was even stricter with me than her husband. Suddenly, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived, and there were traces of dust on him. When I told him the whole matter, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Umm Hani! Whoever you have given protection to, we have given protection to, and whoever you have granted safety to, we have granted safety to."
