Prophet's (SAW) distribution was by divine command
Hadith 4057
- " ما أوتيكم من شيء وما أمنعكموه، إن أنا إلا خازن أضع حيث أمرت ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, who says that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I do not give you anything nor do I withhold from you; I am only a treasurer, I place (everything) where I am commanded to place it."
