Silsilah Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will ask the man suffering the lightest punishment of the Fire: 'O son of Adam! How is your condition?' He will say: 'The worst condition.' He will be asked: 'If you had ownership of the world and whatever is in it, would you give it as ransom (to save yourself from this punishment)?' He will say: 'Yes.' Allah will say: 'You are lying. When you were in the back of your father Adam, I demanded from you something easier than this—that you should not associate anything with Me, and I would save you from entering the Fire. But you refused and committed shirk with Me.' Then it will be ordered that he be taken towards Hell."
