Black Stone was sent down white; why did it turn black?
Hadith 3916
- " نزل الحجر الأسود من الجنة أشد بياضا من الثلج، فسودته خطايا بني آدم ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the Black Stone descended from Paradise, it was whiter than snow, but the sins of the children of Adam made it black."
Hadith 3917
- لولا ما مسه من أنجاس الجاهلية؛ ما مسه ذو عاهة إلا شُفي، وما على الأرض شيء من الجنة غيره) .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If it were not for the impurities of ignorance having touched it (the Black Stone), then the pain of a suffering person would be removed by touching it. Other than this stone, there is nothing from Paradise on the earth."
