Who were Tubba and Dhu al-Qarnayn?
Hadith 3905
- " ما أدري تبع ألعينا كان أم لا؟ وما أدري ذا القرنين أنبيا كان أم لا؟ وما أدري الحدود كفارات أم لا؟ ".
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I do not know whether Tubba‘ was accursed or not, and I do not know whether Dhu’l-Qarnayn was a prophet or not, and I also do not know whether the prescribed punishments (for related sins) become an expiation or not."
Hadith 3906
- " لا تسبوا تبعا، فإنه كان قد أسلم ".
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not revile Tubba', for he had become a Muslim." This hadith is narrated marfu'an from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd Sa'idi, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas, and Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with them), and mursal from Wahb bin Munabbih.
