Hadith 3883
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Narrate (their traditions) from the Children of Israel, there is no harm in it, for among them are astonishing events.” Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) narrated this incident: “Some people from the Children of Israel set out and reached a cemetery. There they said, ‘If we pray two rak‘ahs and supplicate to Allah Almighty to bring out a dead person (from the grave) for us, so that we may ask him about death.’ So they did so. While they were in this state, a man raised his head out of a grave in that cemetery. He was wheat-colored and there was a mark of prostration on his forehead. He said, ‘O people! What do you want from me? A hundred years have passed since my death, but the heat (effects) of death have not yet ended. So you should supplicate to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, to return me to the state in which I was.’”
