Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Abdur Rahman bin Jubair bin Nufair narrates from his father that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Wazaj (may Allah be pleased with him) was an early companion. He states that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is near that a person of little importance will be made your leader, and people will gather around him whose napes will be shaved, their shirts will be white in color, and when he commands them to do something, they will present themselves." By Allah's will, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Wazaj was made governor of some cities. When the farmers would come to him, whose napes were shaved and their shirts were white, and they would present themselves at his command, he would say: Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth.

A companion of the Messenger narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It is possible that a most despicable man may gain dominance over the world, and at that time, the best among the people will be the believer who is between two noble ones."
