Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “This religion will become manifest and will cross the seas, until horses (in the path of Allah) will enter the sea. Then there will come people who will recite the Qur’an, and after reciting it they will say: We have recited the Qur’an, who is a better reciter than us? Who has more knowledge than us?” Then, turning to his companions, he asked: “What do you think, will there be any good in them?” They replied: “No.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “These people will be from among you, they will be from this Ummah, and they will be the fuel of the Fire.”
