Wine Will Be Considered Lawful by Changing Its Name
Hadith 3691
- " إن أول ما يكفئ - يعني الإسلام - كما يكفأ الإناء - يعني الخمر -، فقيل: كيف يا رسول الله، وقد بين الله فيها ما بين؟ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: يسمونها بغير اسمها ".
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The first thing that will be removed from Islam is wine (i.e., people will no longer care about Islam's ruling regarding it)." It was asked: O Messenger of Allah! How will this happen when Allah Almighty has made it completely clear? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "They will change its name."
Hadith 3692
- " ليستحلن طائفة من أمتي الخمر باسم يسمونها إياه، (وفي رواية) : يسمونها بغير اسمها ".
Sayyiduna ‘Ubada bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “A group from my Ummah will change the name of alcohol and consider it lawful and permissible.”
