Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he looked out from a hill of Harrah and said: "When the Dajjal appears, Madinah will prove to be the best land. On every path leading to it, there will be an angel, so the Dajjal will not be able to enter it. When this happens, Madinah will shake its inhabitants three times, and every hypocrite man and woman (living in Madinah) will go out towards the Dajjal. Most of those who go will be women. This will be the 'Day of Purification.' On that day, Madinah will expel its filth just as a furnace cleans the impurities of iron. With the Dajjal will be seventy thousand (70,000) Jews, each wearing armor and each holding a decorated sword. His camp will be set up where the water channels converge." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "(Neither in the past) was there a trial, nor will there be until the Day of Resurrection, more severe than the trial of the Dajjal. Every prophet warned his nation about him, and I will tell you a sign about him that no prophet has told before." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) placed his hand on his eye and said: "I bear witness that Allah, the Exalted, is not one-eyed (and the Dajjal will be one-eyed)."
