Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "By Him in Whose hand is the soul of Abu al-Qasim! Surely, Isa ibn Maryam (peace be upon him) will certainly descend as a just leader and a fair ruler. He will break the cross, kill the swine, reconcile relationships, and enmity will come to an end. Wealth will be presented to him but he will not accept it. If he stands by my grave and says: 'O Muhammad!' then I will answer him."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Glad tidings for the life after ‘Isa (peace be upon him), glad tidings for the life after ‘Isa (peace be upon him). The sky will be given open permission to rain and the earth to grow crops. If you sow seeds even on the Safa hill at that time, they will sprout. (Among the people) there will be no desire for superiority or distinction over one another, envy and malice will end, and (there will be so much peace that) a man will pass by a lion and it will not harm him, and a man will pass over a snake and it will not hurt him. There will remain no urge among people to surpass one another, nor will there be any envy or malice."

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When ‘Isa ibn Maryam (peace be upon him) descends, the leader of the Muslims, Mahdi, will say to him: 'Come and lead the prayer.' He will say: 'No, you are leaders and amirs of one another; this is an honor and dignity that Allah has bestowed upon this Ummah.'"
