Widespread Evil Causes Divine Punishment
Hadith 3611
- (إذا ظَهَرَ السُّوءُ في الأرضِ؛ أنزلَ الله بأهلِ الأرضِ بأسَهُ. قالت [عائشة] : وفيهم أهل طاعة الله عزَّ وجلَّ؟! قال: نعمْ، ثمَّ يصيرون إلى رحمة الله تعالى) .
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When evil becomes widespread in the land, Allah the Exalted will send His punishment upon the people of the earth." Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) asked: "Will there be among them those who are obedient to Allah?" He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied: "Yes, but they will be transferred to the mercy of Allah."
Hadith 3612
- " إذا ظهر السوء في الأرض أنزل الله عز وجل بأسه بأهل الأرض، وإن كان فيهم صالحون، يصيبهم ما أصاب الناس، ثم يرجعون إلى رحمة الله ".
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When evil becomes widespread in the land, Allah Almighty will send His punishment upon the people of the earth. If there are righteous people among them, they too will be afflicted by that punishment, then they will return to the mercy of Allah Almighty."
