Hadith 3565
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting in a gathering when Jibreel (peace be upon him) came and sat in front of him in such a way that he placed his palms on the knees of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Tell me about Islam... (The narrator mentioned a long hadith, in which these words were also included:) He said: O Messenger of Allah! Tell me, when will the Hour (Day of Judgment) come? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "SubhanAllah! The knowledge of five matters is from the unseen, only Allah knows them, (those five things are mentioned in this verse: ) «إِنَّ اللَّـهَ عِنْدَهُ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ وَيُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي الْأَرْحَامِ وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ مَاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ بِأَيِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ إِنَّ اللَّـهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ» 'Indeed, with Allah alone is knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows what is in the wombs. No soul knows what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul knows in which land it will die. (Remember that) Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware.' (31-Luqman:45) However, if you wish, I can inform you about the sign that will occur before the Hour." He said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah! Please tell me. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will see that the slave girl will give birth to her master, and the shepherds of sheep (will compete) in constructing lofty buildings. The barefoot, hungry, and poor people will become the leaders of the people. These are the signs and conditions of the Hour." He said: O Messenger of Allah, who are meant by the shepherds of sheep, the barefoot, the hungry, and the poor? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Arabs."

Tariq bin Shihab says: We were sitting with Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), when a man came and said: The iqamah has been pronounced. He stood up and we also stood up. When we entered the mosque, we saw that the people in the front part of the mosque were in the state of bowing (ruku‘). He said "Allahu Akbar" and (before reaching the row) performed ruku‘, and we also performed ruku‘. Then we moved forward in the state of ruku‘ (and joined the row), and we did as he did. A man passed by in haste and said: Abu Abdur Rahman! Peace be upon you. He said: Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth. When we had finished the prayer and returned, he went to his family. We sat down and began to say to each other: Did you hear that he replied to that man by saying: Allah has spoken the truth and His Messengers have conveyed (His message)? Who among you will ask him about what he did? Tariq said: I will ask. When he came out, he was asked. In reply, he said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Before the Hour, greetings will be given only to specific people, trade will become widespread, to the extent that a wife will help her husband in business, also there will be severing of family ties, false testimony, concealing true testimony, and writing and reading (will also become widespread)."

- " والذي نفسي بيده لا تقوم الساعة حتى يكلم السباع الإنس ويكلم الرجل عذبة سوطه وشراك نعله ويخبره فخذه بما حدث أهله بعده ".
Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) says: A wolf attacked a goat and caught it. The shepherd chased after it and snatched the goat away from it. The wolf sat down on its tail, spreading its hind legs on the ground and standing on its forelegs, and said: “Do you not fear Allah? The sustenance that Allah had granted me, you have snatched away from me?” The shepherd said: “How astonishing! It is a wolf, sitting on its tail and speaking like a human being.” Then the wolf spoke again and said: “Shall I not tell you something even more astonishing than this? Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) has come to Yathrib (Madinah) and is informing about past events.” (Upon hearing this) the shepherd drove his goats to Madinah, gathered them in a corner, and came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him of the situation. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered and the call of «الصلاة جامعة» was raised to gather the people, (the people gathered and) the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to them and ordered the shepherd to narrate the whole incident. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) himself said: “He has spoken the truth. By the One in Whose hand is my soul! Before the Hour is established, wild beasts will speak to people, a man will converse with the tip of his staff and the strap of his sandal, and his thigh will inform him of what his wife did after him.”
