Hadith 3422
- " إن الله يؤيد حسان بروح القدس ما نافح أو فاخر عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ".
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to place a pulpit in the mosque for Sayyiduna Hassan (may Allah be pleased with him). He would stand on it and recite poetry to establish the superiority of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and to defend him, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would say: "As long as Hassan continues to recite poetry in defense of the Messenger or to establish my superiority, Allah Almighty continues to help him through Jibreel (Gabriel), the Trustworthy."
Hadith 3423
- " يا حسان! أجب عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ، اللهم أيده بروح القدس ".
Abu Salamah bin Abdur Rahman bin Awf heard from Sayyiduna Hassan bin Thabit Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), who said to Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) while putting him under oath: "I ask you by Allah, did you hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Hassan! Respond on behalf of the Messenger of Allah. O Allah! Support him with the Holy Spirit (Jibreel Amin).'?" Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah said: "Yes."
Hadith 3424
- " إن روح القدس لا يزال يويدك ما نافحت عن الله ورسوله ".
Narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Criticize the Quraysh, for this is more burdensome for them than a shower of arrows.” Then he sent a message to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with him): “Satirize them.” He mentioned their faults and shortcomings, but the Prophet was not pleased. Then he sent a message to Sayyiduna Ka’b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), and after him to Sayyiduna Hassan bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him). Hassan came and said: Now you should entrust this matter to this lion who is girded for attack. Then he stuck out his tongue, moved it, and said: By Him who has sent you with the truth! I will tear them apart with my tongue as leather is torn. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Do not be hasty. The one who knows the lineage of Quraysh best is Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). Since my lineage also joins with theirs, he will first clarify my lineage to you.” Sayyiduna Hassan went to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and returned, saying: O Messenger of Allah! He has clarified your lineage for me. By Him who has sent you with the truth! I will separate your lineage (from satire) as a hair is pulled out from dough. Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say about Hassan: “The Holy Spirit (Jibril Amin) will continue to support you as long as you defend Allah and His Messenger.” She says that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “Hassan has satisfied the heart and subdued the enemy by criticizing them.” Sayyiduna Hassan (may Allah be pleased with him) said: You criticized Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)... I responded on his behalf... and with Allah there is reward in this action... You criticized Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)... even though he is righteous and sincere... He is the Messenger of Allah, his habit is loyalty... Indeed, my father and his father and my honor... are defenders of the honor of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) from you... I have found my loved ones lost... even though you do not see those (armies)... they are coming raising dust in Kuda... they have grasped the reins and are advancing... on their shoulders are thirsty arrows... our armies are on the move... these women will confront them with their scarves... if you step aside, we will perform Umrah... and thus victory will be achieved and the veil will be torn... otherwise, be patient for the blow of that day... the day Allah will grant honor as He wills... Allah said: I have sent a servant as a Messenger... he speaks the truth, there is no displeasure in it... and Allah said that I have brought forth an army... they are the Ansar, I have presented them for battle... every day they receive from the tribe of Ma’d... insults, abuses, and criticisms... if any of you criticizes the Messenger of Allah... or praises or helps, it makes no difference... and among us is Jibril, the messenger of Allah... he is the Holy Spirit, and none can confront him.
Hadith 3425
- " اذهب إلى أبي بكر ليحدثك حديث القوم وأيامهم وأحسابهم، ثم اهجهم وجبريل معك ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that it was said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! Abu Sufyan bin Harith bin Abdul Muttalib is satirizing you (i.e., speaking ill of you). Sayyiduna Ibn Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah! Allow me to respond to him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: “Are you the one who recites the poem of «ثبت الله . . . »?” He said: Yes. I said: O Messenger of Allah! May Allah keep you firm upon the beauty He has bestowed upon you, just as He kept Musa (peace be upon him) steadfast, and may He help you as He helped him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “And may Allah deal with you in the same way, with goodness and blessings.” Then Sayyiduna Ka’b (may Allah be pleased with him) jumped forward and said: O Messenger of Allah! Allow me to respond to him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: “Are you the one who recites the poem of «همت . . . »?” He said: Yes. I said: O Messenger of Allah! The Quraysh intended to overpower their Lord, but whoever tries to overpower the Most Mighty (i.e., Allah) will surely be defeated. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Be aware! Allah will not forget your poem.” Then Sayyiduna Hassan (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah! Allow me. Then he stuck out his tongue, which was black in color, and said: O Messenger of Allah! Allow me, if I wish, I can tear apart their (pride’s) water-skin. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “First go to Abu Bakr, so that he may inform you about their sayings, deeds, history, and lineage, then satirize them, and (also remember that) Jibreel (the Trustworthy) will be with you.”
