Hadith 3403
- " كم من عذق دواح لأبي الدحداح في الجنة - مرارا ".
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man said: O Messenger of Allah! (At such-and-such place) so-and-so has a date-palm tree, and I am also planting date-palms with him. Please ask him to give me that date-palm so that I can build the wall of my garden. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him: "Give him that date-palm, and in return you will have a date-palm in Paradise." But he refused to do so. Abu Dahdah went to him and said: Sell me the date-palm tree in exchange for my garden, and he did so. Abu Dahdah came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I have bought that date-palm tree in exchange for my garden, so now give this tree to that (needy) man. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "For Abu Dahdah, there are many large and lofty clusters of date-palms in Paradise." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) repeated this sentence several times. Abu Dahdah came to his wife and said: O Umm Dahdah! Leave the garden, for I have sold it in exchange for a date-palm tree in Paradise. She said: You have made a profitable trade.
