Hadith 3374
- " استو يا سواد! ".
Hibban bin Wasi' bin Hibban narrates from some elders of his people that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) straightened the rows of the companions on the day of Badr. He (peace and blessings be upon him) had an arrow in his hand, with which he was straightening the rows. He passed by Suwad bin Ghaziyyah, the ally of Banu 'Adi bin Najjar, who was standing ahead of the row. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) poked him with the arrow and said, "Suwad! Stand straight." Suwad said, "O Messenger of Allah! You have hurt me, while Allah has sent you with truth and justice. Allow me to take retribution." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) lifted the cloth from his stomach and said, "Take your retribution." I clung to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and kissed his stomach. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Suwad! What made you do this?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah! You see what is before us, so I wished that (at the end of my life) my skin would touch your skin." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for goodness and well-being for me and said, "Suwad! Stand straight."
