Prophet’s advice to treat Copts kindly
Hadith 3370
- " إذا افتتحتم مصر فاستوصوا بالقبط خيرا، فإن لهم ذمة ورحما ".
Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you conquer Egypt, treat the Copts with kindness, for they have a covenant and kinship with us."
Hadith 3371
- (الله الله في قبطِ مِصرَ؛ فإنَّكم ستظهرونَ عليهم، ويكونُون لكم عُدَّةً وأعواناً في سبيل الله) .
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), while advising at the time of his death, said: "Fear Allah, fear Allah regarding the Copts of Egypt, for soon you will overpower them and they will be your helpers and supporters in the way of Allah."
