Hadith 3238
- (أجل، فلا ترُدَّ عليهِ، ولكن قل: غفر اللهُ لك يا أبا بكرٍ! غفر الله لك يا أبا بكرٍ!) .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Rabi’ah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I used to serve the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He gave me a piece of land and also gave a piece of land to Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). The world overcame us, and we had a dispute over a date palm tree. Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “This is within the boundary of my land.” I said: “This is within my boundary.” There was harsh talk between me and Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), and Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said such a word that I disliked, and he himself was ashamed. (Eventually) he said to me: “O Rabi’ah! Say the same word to me so that it may be recompensed.” But I said that I would not do so. Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “You must say it, otherwise I will complain to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).” I said: “I will not say such a (word).” Rabi’ah says: Abu Bakr left the land and went towards the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and I also followed behind him. Some people from the tribe of Banu Aslam came and said: “May Allah have mercy on Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), what will he complain to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about you, when he himself has said such and such to you?” I said: “Do you know who this is? This is Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him), he was the second of the two in the cave (of Thawr), and he is the elder of the Muslims. So beware (lest it happens) that he sees you helping me against him and becomes angry, then he goes to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and the Messenger of Allah becomes displeased because of his anger, and then Allah becomes displeased because of their displeasure, and Rabi’ah is destroyed.” They said: “(In that case) what do you command us to do?” He said: “You go away.” (So it happened that) Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and I also followed him alone. He came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and related the matter exactly as it was. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) raised his head towards me and said: “O Rabi’ah, what is the matter between you and al-Siddiq?” I said: “O Messenger of Allah, the matter was such and such. Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me a word which I disliked, then he told me to say the same to him so that it would be even.”

Hadith 3239
Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I was sitting with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when suddenly Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived. He was holding the edge of his cloak, until he removed it from his knee. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Your companion has put himself into trials and difficulties." He greeted (with salam) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I had some dispute with Ibn Khattab, I said something in haste, then I regretted it, so I asked him to forgive me, but he refused to do so, so I have come to you. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said three times: "Abu Bakr! May Allah forgive you." Meanwhile, later Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) regretted it, he went to the house of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and asked: Is Abu Bakr here? They said: No. He came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and the face of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) kept changing, until Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) became afraid, he sat down on his knees and said: O Messenger of Allah! By Allah! I was more at fault. (He said it twice.) The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "O people! Indeed, Allah sent me to you, but you said (rejecting me): You are lying. But Abu Bakr said: You are truthful. Abu Bakr devoted his life and wealth in my support, will you not leave my friend for me?" (He said it twice.) After that, he was not caused any harm.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Change the color of both (i.e., the beard and the head hair) and avoid black color."
