Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Wathilah bin Asqa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “In place of the Torah, I was given «طوال سبعه», in place of the Psalms, I was given «مئین», and in place of the Gospel, I was given «مثانى», and I was given superiority with «مفصل» surahs.”

Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I was given the last verses of Surah Al-Baqarah from a treasure beneath the Throne; such verses were not given to any prophet before me, nor will they be given to anyone after me."
