Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Dumrah bin Tha'labah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) wearing two fine Yemeni garments. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Dumrah! What do you think, will these clothes admit you into Paradise?" I said: O Messenger of Allah! If you seek forgiveness for me, I will take them off before sitting down. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "O Allah! Forgive Dumrah bin Tha'labah." (Upon hearing this supplication) he quickly took off the clothes.
