Asking for Jannat al-Firdaws and its reason

Hadith 3126
- (إذا سألتُم اللهَ؛ فَسَلُوه الفِردوسَ؛ فإنه سرّ الجنّةِ، يقولُ الرّجلُ منكم لراعيهِ: عليكَ بسرِّ الوادِي؛ فإنّه أمرعُه وأعشبُه) .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Irbad bin Sariyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When you ask Allah, then ask for Jannat al-Firdaws, because it is the highest and most superior part of Paradise. (Just see that) the owner says to his shepherd: Take (the cattle) to the highest and most superior part of the valley, because it is more lush and has more grass."
