Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Qais bin Sakan Asadi says: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) saw that his wife was wearing an amulet due to the disease of measles. He forcefully cut it off and said: "The family of Abdullah is free from shirk. We have also remembered this from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): 'Indeed, incantations, amulets, and love-charms are acts of shirk.'"

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a group came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) (to pledge allegiance). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) accepted the pledge from nine (9) individuals and did not accept it from one. They said: O Messenger of Allah! You accepted the pledge from nine (9) individuals and left one (what is the reason)? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "He has hung an amulet." He put his hand in and cut off the amulet. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) accepted his pledge and said: "Whoever hangs an amulet has committed shirk (associating partners with Allah)."

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that when Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about amulets for the sick or those afflicted (by evil), he (peace be upon him) said: “This is a satanic act.”

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Indeed, incantations, amulets, and love-charms are acts of shirk (associating partners with Allah)."
