Hadith 3091

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you the chief of supplications for seeking forgiveness (Sayyid al-Istighfar)? (It is this:) 'O Allah! You are my Lord, You created me, I am Your servant and the son of Your servant, and I am upon Your covenant and promise as much as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favor upon me and I confess my sins. Surely, none forgives sins except You.' Whoever recites this supplication in the evening, Paradise will become obligatory for him."

Then Allah Almighty will write ten good deeds for him for each time, forgive ten sins, raise him ten ranks, these words will be equal in reward to freeing ten slaves for him, and they will protect him from morning till evening, and on that day, no deed of anyone will surpass this deed.
