Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Marrah bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: A guest came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) sent a man to his wives to bring some food, but none of them had any food. So the Prophet (peace be upon him) made this supplication: "O Allah! I ask You for Your bounty and mercy, for none possesses mercy except You." (Soon after) a gift of roasted goat was brought to the Prophet (peace be upon him). So he said: "This is Allah's bounty, and we are awaiting His further mercy."
