Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We were sitting with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: “Shall I not tell you of a supplication which, when a person afflicted with grief, distress, or trial recites it, his difficulty will be removed?” It was said: “Why not (certainly tell us)!” He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “It is the supplication of the man of the fish, Sayyiduna Yunus (peace be upon him), «لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ» ‘There is no deity worthy of worship except You; You are Glorified; indeed, I was among the wrongdoers’ (Surah Al-Anbiya: 87).”
